Robert William McClary, Sr. (Bobby)

Robert (Bobby) William McClary, Sr., entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2023. Mr. McClary was born September 12, 1942, in Sumter, SC, the son of the late James Russell McClary, Sr. and Hettie Louise Gerisch McClary. Mr. McClary graduated from Eau Claire High School, Columbia, SC and worked in the automotive and industrial parts industry for over 40 years. He was a member of the German Friendly Society, an Airon Society and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Charleston. Surviving are his sons, Robert William McClary, Jr. (Fran) of Irmo, SC and Brian David McClary, Columbia, SC; brother Samuel McClary (Linda). Two grandchildren: Amanda Ellen McClary and Robert William McClary, III (Natalee); two great-granddaughters Claira McClary and Amelia McClary. He is survived by a treasured and special friend of over 14 years, Mary McNeil. In addition to his parents, Mr. McClary was predeceased in death by his wife, Rebecca Lesemann McClary and brother, James Russell McClary, Jr. Memorials may be made to Heart of Hospice, 7 Technology Circle, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29203 or St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5 Clifford Street, Charleston, SC 29401 A memorial service with burial will be held at St John’s Lutheran Church in Charleston, SC.
