Russell Howard Greene
June 28th, 1948 - March 10th, 2020
Russell Howard “Rocky” Greene, 71 passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday March 10th at his home. Son of the late Howard and Doris (Rodgers) Greene and stepson to the late Shirley Greene, he was born in Springfield, Ma on June 28, 1948. He was predeceased by his loving grandmother Etta “Nana” Rodgers. Russell worked for over 27 years as a shipping manager for Vertis Advertising. He had a passion for the great outdoors which included fishing and gardening. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed watching Patriots football. His most favorite pastime however was spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a one of a kind sense of humor which will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Russell will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Greene, his daughters Karin Boardway and husband Michael of Three Rivers, Ma and Amy Petelle and husband Christopher of Granby, Ma. His wonderful, awesome sister-in-law, Susan Hebert and husband, Buck, of Chatham, MA. His sisters Beverly Bernard and husband Raymond of Jacksonville, Fl and Cheryl Deming and husband Ed of Tolland, Ma. His brothers Paul Greene of Springfield, Ma and Roger Greene and his wife Teresa of Beckett, Ma as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. Russell also leaves behind his cherished pets including his 2 dogs Bella and Hazel as well as his cat Midnight. Services for Russell will be private and at the convenience of the family.
