William "Bud" F. Roberts
July 7th, 1924 - December 4th, 2020
Brimfield-William "Bud" F. Roberts, 96, previously of Washington Rd. passed away December 4, 2020 at Overlook Masonic Health Care in Charlton. Born in Springfield on July 7, 1924, he was the son of the Ernest G. and Nellie M. (Lynn) Roberts. Bud lived in Brimfield since 1937, previously residing in Three Rivers, Bondsville and Springfield. In 2015 he moved to Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton. Bud was a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army Air Force and continued his service to his country for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, obtaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After 26 years of employment, Bud retired in 1986 from Tambrands, where he was a supervisor in the machine shop. He was commissioner of the Brimfield Cemetery and was a 4th Degree in the Brimfield Council 4794 Knights of Columbus. Bud also served as constable in Brimfield, was a member of the American Legion and the Air Force Sergeant Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Theberge) in 2006 and is survived by his brothers, Raymond and his wife Ruth of Brimfield, Roy of W.Brookfield, and sister-in-law, Connie Roberts of Hardwick along with many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Besides his wife, Bud was also predeceased by his brothers, Eugene in 1979 and George in 2019. Bud had a charismatic way about him that drew people to him. He was a loving, giving, humble man. He will be missed by family members, close friends and all those he touched. A walk through visitation will be held Thursday, Dec 10th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church and may be virtually viewed livestream by clicking https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/885313854.
