Geraldine M. (Crimmins) Slowick
August 5th, 1941 - July 22nd, 2022
Geraldine M. Slowick, 80, of Palmer passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022. She is now at peace. She leaves a daughter Laura and son-in law Thomas A. Brown III. She will be deeply missed by granddaughter Elizabeth, grandsons Thomas Arlington Brown IV, and Joseph Brown. Also she leaves in-laws Thomas II and Calma Brown of Monson. In addition she will be missed by her devoted niece Cindy Killian, and her caring cousins Joan Serio, and Retired Colonel William Callahan U.S. Army, and his wife Susan from Hudson, MA. Cousins John and Candace O’ Brien will miss her too. Geraldine’s husband Joseph E. Slowick predeceased her in April 2020. Gerry was born August 5, 1941 to Daniel W. Crimmins and Ella M. Cassino Crimmins. Daniel founded Crimmins Insurance firm in 1929, later to become Crimmins-Graveline Insurance Agency Inc. in1958. Dan’s father was Timothy J. Crimmins Palmer Police Chief who retired in June 1949. Geraldine attended Mount Saint Mary’s High School in Nashua, New Hampshire, then received her Bachelor's of Education at College of Our Lady of the Elms. She taught 4th grade at Park St. School. On October 24th 1964 she married Joseph E. Slowick. Geraldine was an accomplished soloist, first showing off her talents in various musicals. Her passion was singing in the church choir, most recently at the Second Congregational in Palmer. Also, Gerry loved to volunteer her time at Monson Developmental programs helping with special needs individuals. Special thanks to her friend Marilyn from Tennessee for her attention to Gerry. In addition the staff at Excel Nursing in Palmer, and the Meals on Wheels program from The Greater Springfield Senior Services that attended to her daily needs. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3 at the Bees & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
