Leonard "Hamp" H. Simpson, Jr.

On Friday, January 15, 2021 Leonard Simpson Jr. passed away. He was the loving father of 2 children and grandfather of 2 children. Hamp was born on October 18, 1942 in Columbia S.C. to Leonard and Doris Simpson. He attended and graduated from Dreher High School while working as a meter reader. He was also on the track team and played in the band. He was in the National Guard for 3 years. He became a Sunday School teacher at a church his parents helped found. He went to the University of South Carolina and received a Bachelor's Degree. Our dad was a gentle, kind man, who loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. He loved all genres of music, his dogs, watching tv, going to the movies and enjoyed going out to eat, ice cream and shopping, and scuba diving in his early years. Hamp was preceded in death by his father Leonard, and mother Doris. He is survived by his son Todd Simpson, daughter Kendall Deaver, and grandsons, Walker and Zane Deaver.
