Wendell M. Clark
July 20th, 1929 - October 20th, 2022
Wendell M. Clark, 93, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022. Born July 20, 1929, in Presque Isle, Maine, he was the son of Allison and Bertha (Crouse) Clark. Wendell grew up in Houlton, ME and graduated from Houlton High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 22 years during both Korea and Vietnam wars. He was last stationed at Westover AFB in Chicopee retiring in 1970 prior to moving to South Hadley. He then worked for the Springfield USPS Bulk Mail Center as Maintenance Supervisor for many years. However, delivering flowers for Carey's Flowers, his job in retirement certainly brought him the most joy. Wendell enjoyed classic cars, country music, tending his vegetable gardens and watching the Red Sox with his wife, Cecile. Wendell's memory will long be cherished by his wife of 65 years, Cecile R. (Bossie), and their daughters, Wendy M. Clark, and Jennifer L. Clark both of Jamaica Plain, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Angus and Graydon Clark. Visitation will be Friday, Oct 28th from 11:00-12:15 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home with a service to begin at 12:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 2 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org or The Wreaths across America Fund https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org
