Kathleen "Kathy" McDonald

South Hadley- Kathleen "Kathy" Marie McDonald, 64, passed away March 27, 2024 at her home with her husband by her side. She was born on May 8, 1959 in Northampton, the daughter of William and Harriet (Allen) Christal. Kathy will always be remembered for her kind nature and willingness to help anyone in need. Her love for helping others was a motivation in earning her Master's in Education. As an educator, Kathy's greatest joy was teaching young children at Alphabet Soup in South Hadley. Using her "teacher voice", the children were quick and eager to listen and learn. Kathy was very strong and fought a long hard battle with her illness. Her strength was also something to be admired. Most recently, Kathy loved camping with her husband, Wayne, in Connecticut and enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the sunset. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Wayne McDonald; adopted grandchildren, Nolan and Landon; best friend, Doris Carlson; and dear friends, Debbie and Russell Gaj, Liz and Sylvia.
