Byron Leonel Perez Morales

Byron Leonel Perez Morales July 1965 -October 2018 In Loving Memory Byron was born to Leonel Bolivar Perez and Thelma Morales in San Juan Ostuncalco, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala on July 28, 1965. He was the third eldest of six siblings Eugenia, Rossana, Edgar, Guillermo, and Sergio. His love of music and violin was evident at an early age. He gave his first large-venue solo violin concert when he was eight years old at Teatro Miguel Angel Asturias in Quetzaltenango. He went on to complete high school and music studies at the conservatory in Quetzaltenango prior to arriving in Virginia in 1986. In Virginia, he attended George Mason University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Science in Business Administration and Computer Systems. He subsequently worked for many years as a radio frequency engineer all while continuing to follow his passion as a music entrepreneur and violinist. He managed and performed with numerous mariachi bands across the DC-metro area for over 30 years including his last group, Mariachi Ay, Ay, Ay. He loved and was loved by family, friends, fellow musicians, and engineering coworkers. Byron passed away suddenly on October 27th, 2018. He is survived by his lovely children, Aida and Byron. May God rest his soul in peace.
