Monique C. Ellis of Arlington, Virginia was born March 18, 1946 in Garonne, Belgium to Ellen (Lilly) M. McMahon and Martin J. McMahon, who was serving in the U. S. Army at the time. She came to the United States as an infant and resided with her parents in Reading, PA. until they moved to Parklawn, VA. She studied piano at American University, where she majored in music. Her marriage to John P. Ellis in September, 1972 ended in divorce in 1983. She then resided for many years at Cardinal House apartments in Arlington, VA. Monique enjoyed classical music, ballroom dance and swimming. She is survived by her daughter Catherine M. Ellis of Santa Barbara, CA. Monique’s remains will be interred next to her mother at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation in her memory can be made to Treatment Advocacy Center, www.treatmentadvocacycenter.org, or Capitol Caring Hospice, Virginia.
