Bruce Alan Cohen, 64, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015. Bruce was born in St Louis, Missouri, on September 17, 1951, to Sidney Martin and Rita Mae Cohen. He was the first of five boys: Bruce, Jon, Ron, Dave and Mark Cohen As Bruce was growing up one thing was clearly evident, he was an avid sports fanatic. Throughout his life he was always focused on sports; Professional, College and local high schools sports. He knew all the players, stats, and history. He was very fond of Hockey, Basketball, and Golf and he especially loved to go out and watch the local high school teams and the participants compete. His knowledge of the local teams, coaches and players was very impressive! Bruce graduated from Ladue High School in St Louis, Missouri in 1969.Very shortly after that his family moved to Northbrook, Illinois. He lived in Illinois and worked various types of jobs until 1976 when he moved to Los Angeles, California to work with his family at K’s Delicatessen. Working with his parents and brothers Bruce helped to make K’s Delicatessen a local favorite for many years. K’s Delicatessen was a true kosher delicatessen and was quite popular until it was sold in 1986. That’s when Bruce got involved in another passion, sales! Bruce started selling Paper Supplies in California and from that time on Bruce was involved with some type of Sales; paper supplies, restaurant supplies, computer supplies. He was an excellent salesman and worked very hard at it …In 1995 he began selling in another Family business – Specialty Enterprises Inc was formed. Bruce was an owner and partner with his Brother’s at Specialty Enterprises until he retired in 2007. Specialty Enterprises continues to thrive today in no small part due to Bruce’s contribution! Bruce was a very kind and caring person. He loved animals. He was always devoted to one or two cats that he had living with him, and he was kind and gentle with dogs and they always seemed to love him! He was a very easy going person and had numerous friendships as he always seemed to make friends easily. He was especially fond of all of his nieces and nephews. He would always try to attend any functions or special occasions involving them and never failed to note how talented and special they were. They were his pride and joy and he always held a special place in his heart for them! Bruce’s health started to fail around 2010 and he fought tenaciously with various illnesses the last five years. His valiant effort ended on October 19th, 2015. He will always be remembered as a very likable, kind and gentle soul. Bruce is survived by his 4 Brothers and their families: Jon Cohen Ronald & Cindy Cohen, Rita Cohen, Megan Cohen Dave and Mary Cohen, Sarah Cohen, Rebekah Cohen, Jake Cohen Mark Cohen
