Watson Payne Morgan Jr., at the age of 85, passed May 17, 2017 after a brief illness, with his family by his side. Husband of 60 years to the late Eloise Seiler Morgan, he is survived by his daughters Cynthia Saylor (Michael), Linda West (James) and his grandchildren Rachel and Patrick Saylor, and Trey West Born and raised in Alexandria VA, the son of Watson and Russell Morgan. Brother to Lillian Robson, Landon Morgan, Patricia Morgan, Gerry Gore, Marian Bourne and Joyce Dawson. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, Platoon 507, Fourth Recruit Battalion. Upon returning home, he married Eloise while attending Bridgewater College. He worked for Montgomery Ward, established his own remodeling business and years later retired from the Department of Defense. In addition to being a student of history, Watson was a devoted supporter of his family. He never missed a church pageant, school graduation or baseball game. We are most proud of how he cared for his beloved wife Eloise when she was ill. A Memorial Service will be held Friday May 26, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Columbia Baptist Church, 103 W. Columbia St., Falls Church VA 22046 with reception immediately following. He will join his wife in a private interment at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to woundedwarrorproject.org.
