Barbara B. Conley

Barbara B. Vieira Conley, 76 of Commerce City, passed away at home on January 26, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born September 20, 1939 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Manuel Vieira Sr. and Georgiana da Costa Frias. She grew up in the New Bedford and Cape Cod areas of Massachusetts. She worked as a bookkeeper while living in New Bedford, Massachusetts, San Jose, California, and Gainsville, Georgia. After moving to Brighton, Colorado in 1972 she worked for AVCO Financial Services until 1979 when she went to work for Transamerica Financial Services. Starting in 1989 she was a reporter for the Commerce City Beacon for several years. For the last few years she was selling items online. She married David D. Conley November 23, 1984. She is survived by her husband, daughters Cheryl-ann Ross (Eddie) Ingleside on the Bay, Texas and Sandra G. Bradford (Ralph) Travelers Rest, South Carolina; son Douglas J. Salter Jr, Augusta, Georgia, 5 grandchildren-Joe, Barbara, Christina, Mary and Caitlyn, and 6 great grandchildren. Other survivors include sister Doris Mae Gomes (Nathan) Dartmouth, Massachusetts; sister in law Lorraine Rodrigues, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, and sister in law Jane Vieira, New Bedford, Massachusetts. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Charles Rodrigues, and Manuel Vieira Jr., and sister Dorothy Audette.
