Betty Delores Zar
July 20th, 1928 - December 11th, 2023
Betty Delores Zar of Aurora Colorado entered eternal life with her Lord Jesus on 12/11/2023. Betty was born on 07/20/1928 in Duluth Minnesota to Franklin Charles Greech and Flossie Lucille Greech.
Following World War II, Betty moved to Minneapolis and enrolled in college, where she met and married James (Jim) Everitt Zar, who preceded his wife to heaven. Despite the challenges of getting married, working, and having a baby, she earned her degree in music education.
After graduation, Betty and Jim moved to Longmont, Colorado, where they raised their three children. In Longmont, they bought a home with land, where they raised horses, cats, dogs, fish, and even turtles. Betty taught private music lessons in their home to many students, including her own children. She ensured that her family was always surrounded by music, singing, dancing, theater and the arts.
Betty and Jim started several businesses, all of which involved their children in some way. They always made sure their children were well taken care of and provided for. Friends and family would say that Betty loved to sing, play the piano, and dance with her husband, Jim. They also remarked on her Irish temper, joking that she could beat you with a shillelagh stick if she had one. Betty enjoyed discussing politics, history, religion, and sports and kept up to date on news and recent events. She was a passionate Broncos fan and loved watching games on TV with her daughter Debi and her son Gary.
Betty always carried herself with poise. When she entered a room, everyone noticed her. She was often the best-dressed woman, with rich-looking, color-coordinated outfits. If you didn't know her when she arrived, you certainly did by the time she left. She had charisma and spunk, making her the life of the party.
Even at the age of 95, Betty maintained her elegance, style, and class. She continued to participate in family activities whenever possible and loved her family deeply.
Betty was and always will be loved by friends and family of all ages. While she is now in the arms of the Lord, she will be deeply missed on earth.
Betty is survived by her three children. Pamela Susan Pearson, her husband (Lowell), Debra Luanne Zar and Gary Franklin Zar. Her four grandchildren are Tanya Sue Fittz, her husband (Tyler), Jonathan Wesley Pearson, his wife (Julie), Derek James Zar and Lori Marie Zar. Her four great grandchildren Matthew Jacob Fittz, his wife (Miranda), Jael Elisabeth Pearson, Jada Christine Pearson, Joshua Wesley Pearson.
