Mr. Mark David Johnston, 58, passed away on June 13, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00PM Sunday June 17, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel with Rev. William Van Wieren III officiating. He was born to Tom and Pat Johnston on July 7, 1959 in Hammond, Indiana. Mark enjoyed working in the garden, cooking extravagant meals for his family and fishing. He was a very talented craftsman, and enjoyed making anything with his hands. He loved spending time near the ocean but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his brother Michael Johnston. Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Lori Johnston; daughter Leah; parents Tom and Pat Johnston; brother Ken Johnston; sister Meg McCarthy husband Kevin; nephews Patrick and Sean McCarthy; niece Keegan Grace; sister-in-law Maura Johnston; special friends Diane, Randy and Brandon Keeney, Jamie, Amanda and Cole Simmons, Nicole, Fred, Allie and Kylie Bollman and Rod, Bev, Avery and McClain Miller and several extended close family and friends. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to Leah Johnston’s college fund, 8400 Case Ridge Drive, Oak Ridge, 27310.
