John Lee Smith

John Smith, 67, passed away Monday July 30, 2018. The family is honoring John’s wishes not to have a service at this time. John was born August 10, 1950 to the late Mortimer Leroy Smith, Jr. and Ethel Carter Smith, in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the middle child of three children. He married his sister’s best friend, Susan Hauser, April, 25, 1975. John and Susan raised their daughter, Jessie, in West Haven, Connecticut. They moved in 2016 to Kernersville, North Carolina to be closer to their daughter’s family. He enjoyed gardening, listening to Jazz music, riding his motorcycle, and most of all being with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Susan Smith of the home; daughter, Jessie Bush and Landon; granddaughter, Arya Bush; mother, Ethel Carter Smith; sisters, Dorinda Hardy and Dave, and Barbara Klatzkin; nephews, David Hardy, Jim Hardy, Joey Klatzkin, and Andy Klatzkin; and many extended family and friends.
