Alexander "Carl" Marshall
October 18th, 1929 - August 11th, 2018
Alexander "Carl" Marshall, 88, the most loving Husband and Father in the world passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born on October 18, 1929 to the late Thomas Clay and Fannie Perrell Marshall. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Carl loved NASCAR, gardening and collecting antiques. Carl was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his family. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. in 1985 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends after his retirement. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his twin brother, John Carlus Marshall. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mattie Dillon Marshall; his daughter, Cathy Ann Marshall; one sister, Carolyn M. Jones (Charles) of Winston-Salem; nephews, Gary Marshall (Beth) of Germanton and Christopher Jones of Winston-Salem; also, special great-nephews and nieces. There will be a 2:00pm funeral service on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville, NC. Interment will follow the service at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Cove Health & Rehabilitation for the love and support provided to Carl and his family. Also, special thanks to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for the care provided. Pierce-Jefferson of Kernersville is serving the Marshall family.
