Vera Griffin, 92, passed away September 28, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday, October 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Vera was born in Somerset, England on October 21, 1925 to the late Joseph and Beatrice Atkins. She spent 28 years as a nursing assistant at Bradford Village nursing home. She loved being around people and caring for their needs. Vera enjoyed working in her garden, playing cards, attending church and spending time with her loving family. Vera was preceded in death by her husband John “Taylor” Griffin; their daughter, Audrey Griffin and five grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memories include her seven children, Gail Tate, Albert “Bo” Griffin, Carrie Wilson, Irvin Griffin, Tommy Griffin, Ruth Taylor, Jane Terrell; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and several extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity of your choice. The family wants to extend their gratitude to Trellis Supportive Care along with Tender Care.
