Michael Eugene “Mike” Basim, 63, of Kernersville passed away Sunday June 23, 2019. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held at Kernersville Moravian Church 2:00PM Thursday June 27, 2019 with Rev. John Rights officiating. Interment will follow in God’s Acre at the church. Mike was born in Limestone, Maine July 7, 1955 to James Eugene Basim and Frances Eileen Basim who preceded him in death. Mike worked for Wendy’s International for over 18 years where he worked his way through the company into higher management positions. After leaving Wendy’s, Mike and his wife, Debbie ran their own restaurant in Kernersville for many years. Later, Mike worked for Pepsi/Cognizant in Winston-Salem. Mike was an avid sports fan, especially a Wake Forest Demon Deacon Fan. He was a member of Kernersville Moravian Church and enjoyed serving Lovefeast at Christmas. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Deborah “Debbie” Basim; daughter, Nichole Hutchins of Kernersville, NC; son, Joseph Basim and wife, Kayla of Kernersville, NC; two grandchildren, Kevin Hutchins and Michael Hutchins, both of Kernersville, NC; sister, Marla Hearn of Marietta, OH; and several nieces and nephews. The family will visit with friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Wednesday June 26, 2019 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
