Richard “Dickie” Holcomb, 79, went home to be with his Lord May 11, 2020. A “Walk Through” visitation will be held from 1:30PM until 2:30PM Wednesday May 13, 2020 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home. Interment will be beside his beloved wife, Carolyn, in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, Richard was the son of the late Edith Lucille Dodson Holcomb and Raeford Blake Holcomb. In addition to his parents, Richard also was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn Ragan Holcomb; sister, Judi Childress; and a brother, Alton Holcomb. He was retired from the RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company following 38 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was a longtime member of Gospel Light Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Bus Captain. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his daughters, Tamara Bowen and Kevin of Winston-Salem, and Tracy Cain and Kevin of Kernersville; brother, Rick Holcomb of King; granddaughter, Sara Ragan Cain of Kernersville; sister, Gay Zimmerman of Lexington; and numerous extended family and friends.
