Tribucast Michael John Gartland, 64, of Oak Ridge, NC passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 10:00AM Monday, March 22, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144. The service will be live streamed via Tribucast. The clickable link for Tribucast can be found at the top of the online obituary. Michael, husband of 40 years to Laura Wistrom Gartland. Son of the late Gordon Gartland and Sylvia Miller Gartland. A native of Minneapolis, MN, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mike relished time spent playing games, listening to and learning to play music, especially the Beatles and 60’s protest songs. He was an avid MN sports fan, SKOL Vikings! Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed. Survivors include his wife, Laura; son, Jason (Elizabeth) of Durham, NC; daughters, Kelly (Mathew) Fitzwater of Concord, NC, and Katie (fiancé, John Hewes III), of Oak Ridge, NC; grandson, Anderson Fitzwater; sisters, Linda (Pat) Krolick, and Marsha (Tony) Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
