Edward L. "Trey" Rhodes, III
October 4th, 1963 - March 30th, 2022
Edward L. Rhodes III, known to everyone as Trey, passed away in his home on 30 March 2022. A native of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, Trey was the husband of his best friend and life long companion, Wendy Glass and the son of Edward L. Rhodes Jr and Barbara McElveen, both deceased. He served in the US Marine Corps and worked for Transmontaigne Oil Company, but if anyone asked him to describe himself it would be as a Poppy to his beautiful family. His greatest joys in life were going on family adventures, watching the kids laugh and eating licorice. Survivors include his wife, Wendy; sons, Edward L. Rhodes IV and wife, Melissa Ann Rhodes, Charles Robert Hayne and wife, Katie Lea Hayne; his daughter, Rebecca Rhodes Hofacker and husband, Alexander Allistair Hofacker; seven grandchildren, Eleanor Leavitt Hofacker, Dean Lennis Hofacker, Hunter Grace Rhodes, Maverick Trey Rhodes, Holli Ann Hayne, Heather Elizabeth Hayne, and Charles Robert Hayne III. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30AM Monday, April 4, 2022 at Mercy Hill Church at Edgefield, located at 3530 Edgefield Road, Greensboro, North Carolina with Randy Titus officiating. The family would appreciate those who attend to be prepared to write down a memory, scripture or something they loved about Trey so his grandchildren that were so valuable to him would know him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to Mercy Hill Church, 7616 Business Park Drive, Greensboro, NC 27409. Friends and family may view, and sign the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com
