William Douglas “Doug” Braswell, 68, of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2022. A native of Greensboro, NC, Doug was the husband of the late Teresa Staples Braswell and the son of Harvey Vernon Braswell, Sr. and Sadie Stallings Braswell Michael, both deceased. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa who had endless love for his family. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Will Mabe of Kernersville; daughter, Ashley Mabe Owen of Winston-Salem; grandsons, Chase Mabe and wife Courtney, and Wayne Owen; granddaughters, Kirsten Mabe, and Edith Owen; great grandchildren, Dallas Mabe, and Brooks Mabe; sister-in-law, Karen Braswell; nieces, Megan Thomas, and Lauren Braswell; and nephew, Brandon Braswell. In addition to his wife and parents, Doug was preceded in death by his step-father, Garland Patton Michael; and brothers, Harvey Braswell, Jr., and Stan Braswell. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 4:00PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Hester officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM Tuesday prior to the service at the church. Family and friends may view, and sign the guestbook at www.piercejeffersonfh.com Memorial contributions may be made to Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, 794 Sedge Garden Road, Kernersville, NC 27284. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kerner Ridge for their care and support during Doug’s illness.
