Kernersville-Betty Hull Berry, 80, went home to be with her Lord on December 18, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Friday December 21, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Patterson and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Maggie Lou Shelton and Lacy Franklin Hull. Betty retired from Hanes Brand and later worked at The Plaza Restaurant, as a cashier, for a number of years. She also volunteered with The Shepherd's Center, Crisis Control, and as a receptionist for Care Net Counseling Center. Betty truly enjoyed her own personal ministry of baking and delivering fresh Pound Cakes to her many friends in the community. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her two husbands Warren Nowlin and George Webster Berry, son Jeffrey Freeman Nowlin, six sisters, five brothers, and step-daughter Barbara Thomas. Survivors include her grandson Jayson Nowlin of Lewisville; grandson Nicholas Nowlin; sister Frances Brown of Clemmons; daughter-in-law Christina Sizemore Nowlin of Kernersville; step-daughter Denise Beran of Florida; step-son Jerry Edward Berry and Darlene of Naples, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will visit with friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
