Kernersville-Charles Lee "Charlie" Hawley, II, 39, went home to be with his Lord February 10, 2012. Charlie fought courageously for nearly two years with pancreatic cancer. II Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Monday February 13, 2012 at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 803 16th Street in Greensboro with Dr. Jesse Bledsoe and Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30PM Monday in Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville. Born February 16, 1972, he was a native of Guilford County and the son of Mona Binkley Holmes and Charles Lee Hawley. He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School Class of 1991. He also is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of High Point University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Information Systems. He was employed with Crowne Partners, Inc., Winston-Salem, in property management. He was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church. An avid outdoorsman, Charlie loved animals particularly his dog "Gracie". He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Rex Binkley, paternal grandfather H. D. Hawley, and paternal grandmother Dorothy "Dot" Hawley. Survivors include his mother Mona Holmes and Bill of Kernersville; his father Charles Lee Hawley and Janice of Greensboro; sister Kristin Seale and Johnny of Raleigh; brother William "Bill" Hawley of Greensboro; maternal grandmother Pat Binkley of Kernersville; paternal grandmother Stella Comer of Greensboro; aunt Myra Atkins and Mike of McLeansville, Katherine Berrier and Roy of Lexington, and Jeanette Priestley and Jim of Advance; uncles Richard Hawley and Bunny of Winston-Salem, Kenneth Binkley and Tina of Kernersville, and Terry Comer and Danielle of Westfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will visit with friends from 4-6pm Sunday February 12, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville and immediately following the service at the church on Monday.
