Kernersville- Lonnie Ray Hardy, 62, died Thursday November 24, 2011 Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00PM Sunday November 27, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at the Gospel Light Cemetery at the original church. A native of Forsyth County, Lonnie was the son of the late Raymond U. and Alma Wilson Hardy. He was also preceded in death by sister Joann Holt and brother Junior Jim Wilson. He is survived by his wife Jody M. Hardy of the home; Four daughters Shancie and Brandie both of the home; Kimberley and Courtney both of Hickory; Four sisters Patricia Hayden and husband Harold of Walnut Cove; Faye Stafford of Kernersville; Joyce Brooks of Huntsville Alabama; Kay Groceclose and husband Bill of Kernersville; three brothers Jerry W. Hardy of Holland Michigan; Ricky L. Hardy of Huntsville Alabama; Donnie G. Hardy and wife Missy of Winston Salem. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. The family asks that memorials be made to Lonnie's children's college fund: 6235 Brewer Avenue Clemmons, NC 27012.
