James Barney
March 3rd, 1957 - June 13th, 2011
Kernersville-James H. "Jim" Barney, Jr., 54, went home to be with his Lord June 13, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 1:00PM Friday June 17, 2011 at Reynolda Church, 2200 Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem, with Pastor Rev. Alan Wright and Rev. Bruce Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Forsyth Memorial Park. A native of Sidney, New York, Jim was the son of the late Sandra Harrington Cole. He had been in the automotive business for a number of years. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker and had worked for Prudential Carolina Realty in Kernersville. He was a member of Reynolda Church in Winston-Salem. He thoroughly loved the outdoors, the beach, and especially their place in New York. Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years Anita Wilson Barney of the home; sister Debbie Graham of Missouri; brothers Jerry Barney and Jeffrey Barney both of New York; mother and father in-law Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Anna Mae Wilson of Ohio; In-laws Susan and Mike Trapp, Stephen Wilson, and Elaine and Tom Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews; Jim's many cherished friends both in New York and North Carolina; and the close friends he loved in his neighborhood and church family. The family will visit with friends from Noon until time for the service on Friday at the church, and immediately following the service at the church. Friends are also welcome to come by the home on Thursday evening as well to visit with Anita and her family.
