March 8th, 1947 - March 20th, 2017
“Cowboy” Wayne Griffin, 70, rode off into the sunset March 20, 2017. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Saturday March 25, 2017 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Rev. Max Carter officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A native of Forsyth County, Wayne was the son of the late Eula Mae Hauser and Gilmer Griffin. He was retired from Southeast Lumber Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Badgett, and brothers Bobby Griffin and Steven Griffin. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Marilyn Griffin of the home; daughter Michelle Carter and son-in-law Seth Carter of Walkertown; grandson on the way Max Wayne Carter; sister Betty Jane Smith of Henderson, NC; and numerous extended family and friends including “Whiskey”.
