Jeannine "White" Lewis Elliot
October 30th, 1928 - February 7th, 2017
After 88 years on earth, Jeannine Lewis Elliot passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. She was a dedicated wife and the proud mother to three, grandmother to eight, great-grandmother to 13 and great-great-grandmother to three. Born in Portsmouth Ohio, Jeannine was a long time resident of Mansfield, OH, retired in Winterhaven, FL, and spent the last 12 years close to the majority of her family in Kernersville, NC. Described as “spunky,” “full of life,” and “a dynamo with a mega-watt smile,” it is no surprise her passion was people. She had the gift of making anyone she spoke to feel they were the most important person she knew. Jeannine enjoyed most, the simple things in life: spending time with friends and family and being involved in her church. She was most at home with the sun on her face and sand between her toes. She loved a full house, baking for and with her grand children, holidays and family get-togethers – especially game nights. The recipes for her mac-n-cheese and chocolate chip cookies will be passed down from generation to generation just as her sweet spirit will continue to inspire. Jeannine will be remembered as a kind, gentle and generous woman of faith who lived life with dignity and grace and left us in the same manner. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed but will be celebrated by all who knew and loved her. Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Virgil White and her loving husband of 45 years, William “Bill” Lewis. She leaves behind her three children, Deborah Mitchell of Kernersville, Pam (Stan) Holloway of Belews Creek, Jim (Kelly) Lewis of Ghana, OH, and her husband, Fred and two step-daughters Roxanne (Mark) Lehmann of Sea Cliff, NY, and Christine Elliot of Charleston, IL; as well as grandchildren, Heather Pitts, Brooke and John Hondros, Jody Holloway, Shelby and Jason Shirley, Brittney and Kevin Bray, Robert and Kim Mitchell, Matthew Lewis and Ryan Lewis, Christa Lehmann and Jennifer Lehmann; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brittany, Addison and Morgan, Braden, Matigan, Bayleigh, Kooper, Blaikley, Carter, Leighton, Jack, Anderson, John Peter, and Jacob; and great-great-grandchildren Kingston, Braxton and Zaydin. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Saturday February 11, 2017 at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church 119 North Bunker Hill Road, Colfax, NC 27235. The family will visit with friends following the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Shady Grove Wesleyan Church or Next Step Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 793, Kernersville, NC 27285. Family and friends may sign, and view the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com Service Information
