John Wayne Todd
June 5th, 1951 - March 14th, 2018
John Wayne Todd, 66, went to be with the Lord March 14, 2018. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 1:00 PM Monday March 19, 2018 at Union Cross Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Kent Kern and Rev. Dennis Hester. John was born June 5, 1951 to the late Gladys Owens Todd and John Walter Todd. He grew up in the Union Cross area of Forsyth County. He graduated from Parkland High in 1972. John worked for Thomas Built Buses, McLean Trucking Co. and American Express, where he retired. John was a loving father, caring brother, good friend, and loved dearly his grandchildren. He had a great singing voice and enjoyed sharing his songs at church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother; Bessie Mae Grainger Todd; maternal grandmother, Carrie Owens; and niece, Michelle Lakey Liddle. Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Todd; son, Bryan Todd; granddaughter, Sierra Lynn Todd; grandson, Zackary Todd; sisters, Faye Todd Lakey and husband Dale and Melanie Todd Hoyle and husband Bence; brother, Jerry Grimsley and wife Carol; and many extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Union Cross Baptist Church.
