Winston-Salem – Hazel G. Moore, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 11:00AM Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 114 Bullin Farm Lane, Ararat, NC 27007. The service will be officiated by Pastor Lee Johnson and Pastor Robert Hutchens. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Hazel was born September 10, 1918 in Surry County to the late Lottie Lee Simpson and Lester Emmitt Moore. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Bledsoe and her brother Lonnie Moore. Survivors include her sister Geraldine “Judy” Flippin; brother Arnold Gray Moore; multiple nieces, nephews and many special friends. Hazel worked for over 32 years in the grocery business and was especially proud that she only missed one day of work during her career. Hazel enjoyed cooking, baking and caring for others in need. When Hazel was 90 years old, she renewed her driver’s license so that she could continue to run errands for her homebound “younger” friends. She was an active lifelong member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, until she moved in with her sister and began attending Meadowview Baptist Church, where Pastor Robert always made sure she had her daily muffin for breakfast. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Friday, October 16 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel as well as Saturday following the services at Rock Hill Baptist Church. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to The Cemetery Fund of Rock Hill Baptist Church or to Meadowview Baptist Church, 105 Nathan Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Family and friends may sign, and view the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com Service Information
