Mark Woycik (64) of Conifer, CO passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side on May 11, 2020. He fought hard for 4 ½ years battling cancer. He was so tough and never complained even as the cancer took over his body. He was born July 11, 1955 to Lorrie and Barney Woycik in Valparaiso, Indiana, attended Immanuel Lutheran grade school and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1973. Mark graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in Graphic Design and ran a highly successful sign company for many years. He was a renaissance man in the respect he could figure out how to do anything. He was not afraid to try new things. He was one of the original white-water rafting guides in Colorado back in the 70’s, an accomplished skier, loved high country backpacking, kayaking, motorcycle riding, camping, ATVing and his final love, horseback riding. He and his wife rode their horses around their mountain home and throughout the west, often camping with their horses in the back country. He helped his wife and her business partner launch a successful design business in 2017. He remodeled our home in 2019, cared for the horses, split wood, felled trees, took care of our property, started a new laser printing business, ran a successful stump grinding business, always thinking about what’s next, all while fighting cancer. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Burcar) Woycik, mother, Lorrie Woycik, sisters, Cheryl Grebe and Carol (Ed) Noland, mother-in-law, Dolores Hardy, father-in-law, Ralph Burcar and brothers-in-law, Brian Burcar, Mick Burcar, Doug Burcar, and Pat Hardy, sister-in-law Kathleen (Burcar) Mercer and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Woycik and his brother-in-law Stan Grebe. His sense of humor, intelligence and integrity will be missed. He lived life fully, was greatly loved and will not be forgotten. A memorial celebration of his life will be held in Conifer, CO, July 25th., 2020. Donations may be made in Mark’s name to (a rescue therapy ranch) Happy Dog Ranch in Littleton, CO. happydogranch.org or to Mount Evans Hospice, Evergreen, CO.
