Henry Kaplan, 94, of Gulfport died peacefully on the morning of Thursday, January 1st, 2015, in St.Petersburg, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Born March 5th, 1920 in Savannah, Georgia to Sam and Sarah Kaplan, he was a proud veteran of World War II and traveled all over the world in the course of his full and remarkable life. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years Raye Jo Sachs Kaplan; daughters Chrissie (Arnold) Karp, and Sarah (John) Epstein; sons Joel (Victoria) Kaplan and Adam (Robin Sprague) Kaplan; grandchildren Evan and Miles Karp, Caroline and Melanie Epstein, and Andrew and Avery Kaplan; and his brother, Max Kaplan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United States Coast Guard Combat Veterans Association. Services will be held in Savannah, Georgia. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
