William "Billy" LaTorre
February 24th, 1941 - October 16th, 2014
Dr. William (Billy) LaTorre was born in Winthrop, Mass, February 24, 1941 and passed Oct 16, 2014. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years, Wendy LaTorre, two children Kristina Young and Todd LaTorre, his sister Marilyn LaTorre, sister-in-law Candace Rodriguez, many beloved nieces, nephews, and countless friends. The LaTorre Family describes Bill as a "lover of God, life, music, dancing, cooking and laughter with "an insatiable love for others". Bill was generous with his time and talent , supporting organizations such as Academy Prep, Morean Art Center, MFA, Guardian Ad Litem, August House and countless others. Bill donated his time, his love, and financial assistance, always without attention and regard to himself. His greatest treasure was helping others and making those he loved laugh. Bill will be dearly and sadly missed by his family and so many beloved friends, who meant the world to him and with whom he shared so many joyful moments. Visitation will be held from 12 - 3 PM on Sunday, Oct. 19th at the David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, and in request of the family, please send donations to either All Children's Hospital (allkids.org) or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org). David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
