Iseko Maiki Levine
March 4th, 1931 - November 12th, 2013
Iseko Maiki Levine passed away November 12, 2013. She was born in Iwaki, Japan, on March 4, 1931. Iwaki was the site of the recent nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daiichi. She married Ted Levine on Nov 28, 1962, in Shinjuku, Japan. Ted and Iseko shared 51 years of comfort, joy, and love together. They met at Tachikawa Air Force Base, where Ted was stationed with the 36th air rescue squadron, and Iseko was working as a library distribution specialist. Her job was to decide which books were to be distributed to all U.S. bases in the far east. After returning to the states in 1965, they established residence in Royal Oak, Michigan. They subsequently moved to Miami in 1970. They opened and ran a successful beauty salon in Coconut Creek, Florida, for 5 years. They lived in Miami for 20 years and then settled in Davie, Florida, until now. Iseko was a very quiet, demure, and sensitive woman, who commanded great respect. She had a very keen awareness and insight into all people she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and was enjoyed and loved by all who knew her. Iseko was truly blessed, just days before she passed, to have the opportunity to return to her native Japan for a 14 day trip, where she was accompanied by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law. Iseko is survived by her husband Ted, and daughter Pamela and her husband Alfredo Faubel. Pamela and Alfredo live together in Miami with their dog, Lulu. Iseko was always afraid of dogs, until she met Lulu, who she came to love and enjoy very much. Memorial service will be held this Sunday, November 17th, at 3:30pm at Congregation Bet Breira, 9400 SW 87th Ave., Kendall, FL 33176. Shiva will be held immediately following at their home in Davie.
