Charles (Chuck) Wayne Baker, 62, of Jordan Valley, Oregon passed away at home on May 7, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 1PM on June 26, 2024, at the cemetery in Jordan Valley, with a celebration of life held afterwards at the Jordan Valley Lion’s Hall. If attending, please bring a side dish as the main course will be provided.

On September 5, 1961, Charles was born to Arlene and Walt Baker in Nyssa, OR. He grew up Adrian, Oregon. After graduating high school in 1979, he moved to Jordan Valley, Oregon, where he became known as Chuck instead of Charles. He began work at the DeLamar Silver mine, where he remained working for close to forty years. While at DeLamar he held several different job titles; including being a warehouseman, Environmental protections supervisor aka “The Quack Patrol,” mill maintenance planner, dewatering and reclamation crew member and heavy equipment operator. After leaving DeLamar he went on to work for Branch Enterprises grinding juniper trees where he enjoyed the back country of Owyhee County watching elk.

In 1980, he met his future wife of 44 years, Sandy Smith. They were married on July 24, 1981. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors driving the backroads, there’s a reason why his nickname was “Stuck Chuck.” His love in life was time spent hunting with friends and family. His other pastimes were going to the Oregon coast, 3-d archery shoots and panning for gold.

Chuck was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides, father Walt Baker, mother Arlene Champane, and sister Lydia Roberts.

Survived by his wife Sandy Baker, daughter Teresa Baker (Floyd), son John Baker and grandson Hunter Hayes, brother Terry Baker, sisters Iona Stieglitz and Carrie Sheppard, stepmother Amy Anderson, brother-in-law Kenny Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

Services are being managed by Flahiff Funeral Chapels, in Caldwell, Idaho.
