Charles Tinturin
April 6th, 1940 - August 15th, 2013
Charles Tinturin, 73, son of the late Thomas and Bessie (Pomerantz) Tinturin, and beloved husband of Ellen (Hiscox) Tinturin of 35 years, passed away suddenly on Thursday (August 15, 2013) in Dunedin, FL. He was born on April 6, 1940 and was a longtime resident of both Preston and Plainfield before moving to Florida. Besides his wife Ellen, he is survived by his son, Scott Tinturin of Buena Park, CA; his daughter Darlene Goldenthal and husband Robert of South Windsor; his step-daughter Laura Burdick and husband Alan of Griswold; his sister Esther Lauer of Leesburg, VA; his brother Melvin and wife Stella of Dunedin, FL; and his grandchildren Michael, Jessica, Holly and Amanda. Charlie was predeceased by his sister Faye Berkowitz, and his brother-in-law Richard Lauer. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was an auto mechanic for many years. He had a love for boating, fishing, gardening, country music and western movies. He also enjoyed home building projects and helping his friends and neighbors. His good sense of humor and presence will be greatly missed. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charlie's name can be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. David C.
