Mary V. Krahl

Mary Virginia Krahl, 90, formerly of Akron, Ohio and late of St. Petersburg, Florida, was called home to eternal rest in the arms of the Lord on August 3, 2013 after a long illness. She is survived by her son, David Eric Krahl, of St. Petersburg, her daughter-in-law, Wren Greene Krahl, her two grandchildren, Erin Kathleen Strott and her husband, Douglas Hale Strott of Palmetto, Florida, and Jake Bryan McAllister of St. Petersburg. She is also survived by her only great-granddaughter, Harper Wren Strott of Palmetto, Florida. She is the former wife of David B. Krahl, also of St. Petersburg. She joins in eternal rest her parents, Frank and Grace VanMeter, both of Akron, and her two brothers, Frederick Van Meter, of Long Beach, California and Edwin VanMeter, of Pasadena, California. Born in Athens, Ohio on July 11, 1923, Mary was a lifelong resident of Akron from 1930 until moving to St. Petersburg in December, 2012. She was a 1941 graduate of West High School. Prior to her retirement in 1978, Mary had been actively involved in the electrical construction industry with W. J. Campbell Electrical Contracting, Inc. in Akron. She was a member of the Akron chapters of National Association of Women in Construction and QUOTA Club. She was also a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron for nearly seventy years. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions in her name to Suncoast Hospice/Woodside House, 6770 102nd Avenue North, Pinellas Park, Florida 33782. Cremation is being performed by the David C. Gross Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Seminole United Methodist Church, 5400 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, Florida. David C.
