Dave Joseph Pinsker 89 of St. Petersburg passed away February 4, 2013. Dave will forever be remembered for his love and devotion to family, friends, and employees, his kind heart and generous soul, his calm and reliable manner, his tolerance and humor, and his sense of duty to community and country. Born to Joe and Gussie in Brooklyn, NY, and grown up in the Bronx, Dave performed reconnaissance and communications service as a Technician Grade 5 in an M8 Armored Car for Patton's 3rd Army in liberating France in World War II, earning a Purple Heart and other honors. Post-war, he soon met and married, in a New York blizzard, the love of his life, Adele Belofsky. They soon settled in Florida's warmer climes, and contributed four sons to the growing population of St. Petersburg. Dave was very active in the Jewish community, becoming a long-time member of Temple Beth-El. He gave employment and service to many through his businesses, Harvey's and SkyMart Draperies, but most of all as owner of Rent-All City in St. Petersburg since 1967. He also provided homes to many through his subdivision development projects. Deeply loved and cherished in memory by many, Dave's survivors are his darling Adele; son Howard of St. Petersburg and his children Erika and Justin; son Paul and daughter-in-law Joyce of Vancouver and their son Martin; son Alan and daughter-in-law Sally of Atlanta and their children Nicole and Eric; sister Sheila Aghassi of Largo; brother-in-law Selwin Belofsky and wife Joyce of Dallas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dave was predeceased by his dearly beloved youngest son, Robbie, his brother Albert and sister-in-law Eleanor; and brother-in-law George Aghassi. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, February 7 at Temple Beth-El, 400 Pasadena Avenue S., St. Petersburg. Burial will follow in Royal Palm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Menorah Manor, Temple Beth-El, or the charity of choice. The family wishes to express particular gratitude for the care given by Sharyn Wittner, Dr. Bridgid Levoir, Robin Morgan, the staff at Toby Weinman ALF, Menorah Manor and Suncoast Hospice. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
