Marion Juanita Roy
June 21st, 1931 - March 6th, 2012
Marion Juanita Davis Roy died March 6th, 2012, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. As she passed, there was a look of peace that replaced the pain she suffered over the last two years. Born in Bartow, Florida and raised in Tampa, Florida, "Jo" grew up in a large and devout family, where music was the center of entertainment, and the sweet smell of the orange grove was their livelihood. Family was in the heart of Juanita's life and joy, and anyone, friend or stranger, was taken in with her love. Juanita now joins Jean-Louis Roy "Jean", her husband of 20 years, her mother and father, her brother, Melton, and her dearest friends. Left behind are her three children, Harley "Hal" and Michelle Larsen, and Jean-Louis Roy Senior "Jean". Hal gave her two grandchildren, Robert Bundy, Jennifer Josephine "JJ" Heinbach. Michelle gave her a grandson, Steven Hampton. Jean gave her three grandchildren, Jean-Louis Jr., and two month old twins, Hunter and Isabella. She preceded her sisters, Velma Moore, Elsie Jones, and Yvonne "Jacki" Bowen; her brother, Daniel "Dan" Davis, and brother-in-law Kirby Bowen. Among many, but just as loved were her nieces and nephews, the great and the great-grand nieces and nephews, which include: Patricia Poag and her children, Bobby and Alyson Nussear; Jimmy Moore and his children, Ryan, Jarod, and Amanda. Ryan's children are Riley, Maddie, and Jay. Jarod's children are Bella and Kailyn; Charles Moore and his children, Tiffany Masson and Danielle Wann. Tiffany's children are Miller and Tanner. Danielle's children are Zealand and Kingsley; Barbara Langford-Moore and her children, Cecilia Fox, Rhea and Marcelo Mendoza. Cecilia's children are Benjamin, with another waiting to join us; Ernie Jones and his children Sheila Alston, Michelle Huff, and Sara Lussy. Sheila's children are Colin, Allison "Allie", and Joseph "Joey". Michelle's daughter is Vivian; Steven Davis, with no children; Michael Davis and his daughter, Christina, and her son, Anthony; Candace "Candi" Jones passed, and her son, Anthony "Tony" Carrio has children; Jimmy Whitten and his children, Mary Cannon, Austin Whitten, and Steve and Dennis Vann. Dennis has a son Kyle. Mary's children are Taylor Bower and Abigail Cannon; Austin's children are Kayla, Jordan, and Maddie; Debra Norris and her children, Gregory and Jacquelyn, "Jacki". Jacki has a daughter, Erica Welch; Frank and his children, Frank 2, Charles, Tonya, and Christian; Dana Lett and her daughter, Stephanie Moody. Michael has 2 children. Juanita looked at the brighter side of life, and she encouraged us to live one day at a time. Her loving spirit radiated to all, and her tender heart saw only the best in each of us. Though Juanita may be gone from this earth, her love is always with us, and her smile is a memory that will remain. The family will be having a private memorial service to share their lives together with Jo, and to celebrate her passing into a realm of peace and joy, with our Lord, Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Suncoast Hospice Foundation. Their web site is www.thehospice.org. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
