Jennie Valdez 1927- 2022 Jennie Valdez, 94, was born and raised in Trinidad, Colorado on October 19, 1927. She left us on June 23, 2022. Jennie was preceded in death by Alfred Valdez, her loving husband of 65 years, her father Tomas Gonzales, her mother Rose (Segura) Gonzales, her brothers Eddie and Tommy as well as her 6 sisters Mary Lou, Mary, Annie, Josie, Dora and Rita, her in-laws Jose Sebedeo and Regina Valdez and 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Jennie will be forever remembered and missed by her 7 children – Judith, Tom (Deb), Sandra (Reggie), Cindy (Dino), David (Kathy), Dennis (Gina) and Lori, her 20 grandchildren – Matthew (Jennifer), Josett, Dominic (Mindy), Alex (Dessire), Shyann, Cherokee, Adrina (Romel), Desiree, Crystal (Cory), Ashley (Jacob), Brandon, Yvette, Nick, Raymond, David, You-One, Daniel, Monique (William), Aaron (Audrienna) and Chantel (Jesus), her 38 great grandchildren – Bella, Rihanna, Gabriel, Austin, Jacen, Orion, Lyla, Vega, John-Paul, Roman, AJ, Noah, Penelope, Demario, Onyx, Shayleigh, Raven, Remy, Cassian, Killian, Anthony, Cannon, Faith, Trinity, Melina, Manuela, Odessity, Josias, Annalena, William, Elyanna, Athena, Aubrienna, Aaron Jr,. Azarius, Frankie, Gabby, and Jesus Jr., 1 great-great grandchild, Jaxon and numerous loving nieces and nephews. In 1948, when Alfred Valdez returned to Trinidad after his service in the Army, he met and married Jennie Gonzales. Together, they moved to Denver where they raised the 5th, 6th and 7th generations of the Valdez family in Colorado. Just like her husband, Alfred, Jennie loved her Broncos. She never missed watching their games. She also loved working on her drawings and word searches – “always start with the last letter!” is what she would teach us. Jennie had a real sweet tooth. She loved her cookies and chocolates which she could eat because they were “sugar-free.” Jennie always enjoyed all of the family gatherings particularly her birthday parties. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jennie will be laid to rest with her husband Alfred Valdez. Honorary Flower Bearers Cherokee Ronolo-Valdez Shyann Ronolo-Valdez Monique Alejo Chantel Rosales Services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, Enter at North Gate, Staging Area “B” 3698 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, arrive no later than 2:00 PM. Please wait to be escorted to the pavilion.
