John Melwak

It is with great sadness that the family of John Melwak announces his sudden passing on Friday, October 23, 2020. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Marianne; children John (Erin), Erica (Manoli); beloved grandchildren Luca, Nikolette, Bianca; sister Mary Alice; and his caring family members and friends. John was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Bridget Melwak. John "Papa" was born and lived many years in Chicago, Illinois and served in the Illinois National Guard. He has been a resident of Las Vegas for the past twenty years. He was a dedicated and valued employee of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a wonderful friend to many. "Papa" devoted his life to his family, and we will never forget him. A Visitation will take place from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral & Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr., #104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Puebla Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
