February 6th, 1950 - December 16th, 2020
Rex "Big Rex" Davis Huxford, 70, of Las Vegas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Rex was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 6, 1950 to parents Doris Huxford and Harry N. Huxford. Rex attended Claremont McKenna College where he played NCAA basketball for the Stags and was a top player in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. A lifelong athlete, he worked as a USPTA professional tennis coach before retiring and was tied for 1st place in the 2017 Nevada Senior Games for doubles tennis. Rex is survived by his wife, Leticia Huxford; his children, Harry H. Huxford, Rex Huxford Jr., and Carmen Huxford; grandson Amador Marchan; his sister Liz Simonsen; nephew Charles Arthur; and niece Laura Burnett. He was known for his cheerful disposition in addition to his tall height and tennis prowess. He was devoted to his family and God, but was always willing to serve others.
