Elliott Nelson

Elliott Nelson, born October 12, 1936, in Detroit, MI, passed away in Las Vegas on February 21, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, pride, and love of family. Elliott’s 12-day courtship to his future wife, Joyce, became a 56-year love story. They proudly raised their children Marc Nelson, Lori Kraft (Paul), and Wendy Riback (Steve) in Michigan before retiring to Las Vegas in 1998. His family and heart grew with his five grandchildren Jake, Ashley, Gabi, Zak, and Rosie. His other loves included cars, boxer dogs, and watching and rewatching every “007 James Bond” movie that ever existed. Elliott admired his Dad and loved working by his side at the horse racetracks, a career he held for nearly 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Nelson, sister Connie Rudack (Jay), niece Debbie and parents Helen and Mowry Nelson. He is survived by his children, five grandchildren and a niece and a nephew who were surrogate children to him. A funeral service will be held, on Friday, February 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, followed by his burial at Bunker's Memory Gardens Cemetery. 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Friends and family are welcome to pay a shiva (condolence) call.
