Robert (Bob) George Bertram

Bob Bertram passed away Sunday evening December 23, 2012. He was 71 years old. Bob was born May 27, 1941 in San Mateo, California to his parents Jack R. Bertram and Bettie I. Fabian. As he grew into his teenage years he accompanied his father to Bob was a butcher at Bertram and Tweed Butcher shop on Mission between 24th and 25th street in San Francisco. Bob graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco. He then joined the air force, serving in Holland and Africa as a crew chief on airplanes. Later, he owned and operated two hardware stores. Bob was a member of the Burlingame Lions, a dining out club and enjoyed boating weekends at Clear Lake, Bob met Janet Skiye Hawk in San Mateo in late 1982. Their courtship involved Jan's two sons, Corey J. Hawk, age 10 and Jim C. Hawk, age 5. The family was combined when Bob and Jan were married December 26, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob obtained his general contractor license and began a thriving business of bath and kitchen remodels in the Bay Area. Bob and Jan moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002. Bob remodeled their Las Vegas home and had a handyman business in Las Vegas. Bob was a wonderful cook. Bob loved dogs and had several during his life. He was hardworking, a bit of a character and his family came first. Never selfish, Bob was a giver to the end. Bob is survived by his beloved x-mother-in-law Nellie Johnson (102), San Mateo, Ca; his mother Bettie Faria (94) Morgan Hill, Ca; his wife, Jan (Skiye) (Hawk) Bertram, Las Vegas, Nevada; Daughter, Sherry Ann Wintsch, granddaughters Sarah Ashley Wintsch, and Haley Jordan Wintsch, Roseville, Ca; step sons Corey Hawk, daughter-in-law Erin (Murphy) Hawk, granddaughter Samantha Marie Hawk, San Mateo, Ca Jim Hawk, daughter-in-law Marissa (Dirickson) Hawk, granddaughter Taylor Lynn Hawk, and grandson Cody James Hawk, Foster City, Ca; sister Lynn Vogt, brother in law Dan Vogt, Gilroy, niece and nephew Scott Vogt and Kelly Campos, Aptos, Ca; cousins Bill Weatherwax and Laura Haynie, Paso Robles, Ca Susan Hampton,Windsor, Ca, Sister in law and brother in law Judy and Ben Arcuri, San Mateo; nephews Rick Arcuri, Sacramento, Ca and Ryan Arcuri, San Mateo, Ca.
