Michael Francis Tempesta

Michael Francis Tempesta, age 77, a 16 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013. Michael was born March 13, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Francis Michael and the late Mildred Nora (Cull) Tempesta. Michael served in the Army and did an overseas tour in Berlin, Germany. Upon completion of service he worked for the Fire Department City of New York (FDNY) as a fireman. He later worked as a fire marshal, and retired as a lieutenant. He also worked as a printer for virtually every newspaper in NYC, including the Herald Tribune, NY Times, Daily News, Daily Mirror and NY Post. Michael enjoyed motorcycles, swimming, boating, golfing and travel. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Carmela Grace (Pirozzi) Tempesta; daughters Lisa Tempesta of Williamsburg, VA and Teresa (Randy) Tempesta Murbach of Ellicott City, MD; sons Frank (Gina) Tempesta of Annandale, VA and Michael (Holly Kimball) Tempesta of Manhasset, NY; grandchildren Colby Murbach and Jolene Grace Murbach; and sister Teresa (Robert) Bucina of Coco Beach, FL. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 14 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
