Ronald “Smokey” Roberts 72 passed away March 6, 2018. Born July 24, 1945 in St. Albans, VT, passed on March 6, 2018. Ron was predeceased by parents, Barbara and Frederick Roberts; sister, Sally Lamorche and grandson, Connor Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Roberts; children, Jeff Roberts and Erin Roberts both of St. Albans, VT, Chad Roberts of Tampa, Kelly Greenwood of Alexandria, VA, Shannon (Dave) Hurgerford of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kerry (husband Timothy) Weston of St. Petersburg; brother, Richard (Ellen) Roberts of Grand Ridge, FL; stepchildren, Bruce Crowley of St. Albans, VT, Dennis (Veronica) Crowley of Alice, TX, Alice Lyons, Leonard Crowley of Winooski, VT; Brenda Thibault of Swanton, VT; and Christine Works of Marianna, FL; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ron served in the US Navy from 1963 – 1969. He worked at IBM Essex Junction, VT for 30 years and retired in 1992 to Florida. Ron and wife Barbara married Feb. 18, 1987. Ron also worked for Taylor Windows & Doors in Tallahassee for five years and Alliance Laundry in Marianna for 10 years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm Monday, March 19, 2018 in the Our Lady’s Chapel of St. Jude the Apostle Cathedral, 5815 5th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Donations in memory would be appreciated to the Connor Roberts Memorial Foundation, 47 Bishop St., St. Albans, VT 05478. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
