Daniel "Danny" James Kelly

Daniel (Danny) James Kelly was born June 2, 1956, in Boston, Mass. He passed away on December 26, 2023, after a sudden decline in health. He was only 67 years of age. Daniel is survived by his loving partner, Kristine Kelly; his sister, Joan Hastings (Mark); and his brother, Jack Kelly. He is also survived by nephews Mark (Caitlan) and Rainier (Heather), niece Thea, their children, and by many loyal friends and extended family members. Daniel was predeceased by his father John Kelly, mother Mary McHugh Kelly, and brother Michael Kelly. Originally from Dorchester, Mass, Daniel moved to Colorado after high school and lived in the Basalt area. He later moved to Boulder, where he met Kristine. Daniel and Kristine spent several years in Boulder and Florida and eventually moved back to Colorado, where they settled in the Denver metro area. Daniel and Kristine were married for 29 years. Daniel was a proud Irishman; his vacation to Ireland for his 50th birthday was one of the highlights of his life (a whole country full of Danny Kellys). He loved all sports and was an avid golfer. He was checking his status on fantasy football to the very end. He will be remembered for his big heart that he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them — and if you knew him, you knew it. His great sense of humor, gregarious laugh, and smile will be missed by all. We love and miss you, Danny. A memorial for Daniel will be held in June and we will notify all friends and family.
