Donald J. Hogan, age 67, died May 7th at Nathan Adelson Hospice following a battle with liver disease. Don is survived by his brother James Hogan, sister Mary Hill, daughter Shannon Wilkinson, Shannon's husband Roger Wilkinson and son Donald J. Hogan, Jr., grandchildren Alyssa Holiday, Alyssa's husband Blake Holiday, Durell Wilkinson, Durell's wife Courtney Wilkinson, Olivia Wilkinson, Isabella Wilkinson, Emerson Wilkinson and his great grandson Maverick Holiday as well as a long list of family and friends who loved him dearly. Don was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, the third child of James and Mary Hogan. He had many colorful stories of his youth and loved growing up in New York. After returning home from Vietnam, he was stationed in sunny southern California where he met and married Cheryl Ansley. They went on to have two children together. Don worked at Reynold's Aluminum for over 20 years and later worked for Rancho Vista Retirement Community. In 2004 he left California to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. His last few years of life were filled with the joy that grandchildren bring and he loved his role as "Ol Pa." Don is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held for him. Don's family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving staff of Nathan Adelson Hospice.
