Richard Stanley Conway

Richard Stanley Conway 80, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010 at his residence in Melbourne, Fl. Dick was born in Quincy, Massachusetts,he , with his parents moved between York, Maine and St. Petersburg, Florida. Joining the Army in 1949, he served in the United States and Japan. Discharged in 1952, he worked at the Savannah River Atomic Plant in South Carolina and later the National Bureau of Standards from which he retired as a Nuclear Electronics Engineer in 1992. Dick was Chapter President of the Central Brevard Chapter of the National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) for three years and Legislative Officer for four years. He volunteered at the Vitas Hospice office for four years. Dick with wife Martha was a Charter member of the Friendship Fellowship. He was chair of the Congregational Leasdership Committee for three years in the 1990's and a member of the Committee for an additional two years. He and martha enjoyed many activities together in their 34 years of marriage. They met a at dance studio and continued their love of dancing for many years. Surprisingly, they were excellent roller skate dancers and attended rinks throughout central Florida. Christmas vacations were usually spent at ski resorts in Vermont , Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. with children and friends. Dick Conway is survived by his loving wife Martha Kleiner Taslitt Conway, and by his two children from his first marriage: Patty Jean Hammac (Roy) and Richard S. Conway, Jr. of Aiken, S.C. his grandson Mark Hammac (Marsha) of Portland, OR., his sister Barbara E. Cole of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and brothers Gary Dana Moulton (Donna) of Colonial Heights, Va. and Ronald Edward Moulton (Betty Lou) of Thaxton, Va. Graveside Entombment services will be held on Saturday, Febraury 20, 2010 at The Parklawn Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M. in Rockville, Maryland. The family request that donations can be made to the Vitas Hospice or a charity of your choice.
