July 12th, 1936 - December 16th, 2006
KENNY - Dennis M., 70, of St. Petersburg, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena. Born in New York City, he came to Florida in the late 1960's from Falls Church Virginia. He served in the US Marines, received his Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Georgetown University, and was Catholic. He was an insurance claims adjuster for Geico in Alexandria, Virginia and locally was a master mechanic in the automotive and motorcycle industries for many years. He was motorcycle enthusiast and an avid music lover, especially of blues and country music. Survivors include his former wife, Mary Ann; four sons; Colin M. Kenny of St. Petersburg, Dennis Kenny of Oviedo, Florida, Thomas and Jonathan Kenny, both of Washington, D.C.; his daughter, Michelle Tanner of Virginia; three grandchildren, Addison, William and Amy and one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh, with another great-grandchild on the way. Funeral services for Mr. Kenny will be 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, with Fr. Bob Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:00 am through service time. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities or St. Jude's.
